Valorant Error 68: How to Fix Connectivity Issues

Valorant Error Code 68 is caused by client-side network issues that you can easily fix at home in a few easy steps.
Before trying any fixes, always check the Riot Games support page and Twitter accounts to see if the servers are online.
A quick restart of your game should fix the issue but in case it does not work, you may need to flush your DNS or change it.

Valorant’s Error Code 68 shows up when the game client has connectivity issues. It is usually caused by the player’s internet or network hardware unlike Error Code 40 which is caused when Valorant servers are unreachable. There are some solutions you can try to fix Valorant’s error code 68 but if none of the solutions listed below work for you, you will need to contact your ISP. Before trying to try any potential fixes, make sure you check Riot Games’ Support page or Twitter account to see if the servers are down. In some cases, the error code can show up when the game is under maintenance or if there is server downtime. Here is a look at how you can fix Valorant’s error code 68.

Check if Valorant Servers Are Online

Head to the official Riot Games Support Twitter account before you try to fix Valorant’s Error Code 68. In case the game is experiencing any issues, all you need to do is wait until the servers are back online. The support staff tweet in case of any outages and also notify players when the servers are back online. 

You can also go to the official support page and check if any maintenance is scheduled when you run into the issue. 

Fix Valorant Error Code 68: Restart Riot Vanguard and Valorant

Riot Games

  1. Exit Valorant.
  2. Right-click on your Taskbar.
  3. Click on Task Manager.
  4. Search for Riot Vanguard and other processes starting with “Riot”.
  5. Right click on all of the Riot processes and click “End Process”.
  6. Start Valorant.

Fix Valorant Error Code 68: Restart Your Computer

PC Restart

  1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard 
  2. Click on the Power icon
  3. Click on Restart

Fix Valorant Error Code 68: Flush Your DNS

Flush DNSYour temporary network files may be causing issues which is why cleaning your files can often fix the issue.

  1. Press the Windows Key
  2. Type “Command Prompt” and hover on the first app result 
  3. Click on Run As Administrator
  4. If asked whether to allow Command Prompt to make changes to your computer, select Yes.
  5. You should now get a new window with a black screen.
  6. Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press Enter.
  7. Type "ipconfig /registerdns" and press Enter.
  8. Type "ipconfig /release" and press Enter.
  9. Type "ipconfig /renew" and press Enter.
  10. Type "netsh winsock reset" and press Enter.
  11. Restart your computer.

Fix Valorant Error Code 68: Change Your DNS

Network issues might cause Valorant Error Code 68. You should consider changing your DNS on your computer or on your router to see if it helps. Login to your router and head to the setup page. Leave all existing settings intact and change your primary and secondary DNS to any of the following:

  • 1.1.1.1
  • 1.0.0.1
  • 8.8.8.8
  • 4.2.2.2

There is also an app you can install by Cloudflare that can toggle OpenDNS on or off. Head to https://one.one.one.one/ and download the app for Windows. Once installed, toggle it on and try playing Valorant.

Contact Your ISP If The Solutions Do Not Work

If any of the above solutions do not work, try contacting your ISP to notify them of the issues you are facing. Raise a ticket explaining that you are unable to connect to Valorant servers and they will be able to assist you.
