HP India Announces INR 12,00,000 Esports Scholarships at FanFest 2020
- HP India announced a scholarship worth 12 Lakhs INR for Indian gamers aged 16-20.
- Three applicants will be selected next year who will be awarded the scholarships.
- The players will also get an esports kit and an opportunity to visit an international esports training program.
HP India announced a new scholarship program in support of the PC gaming community. The ‘Esports Gold Quest’ is a new program that seeks to provide gamers with the skills, equipment, and financial support needed to compete in future esports. HP revealed that esports is becoming a phenomenon, and it is important for them to recognize its importance and offer Indian talent the tools and guidance that they need to compete on the world stage.
Esports Gold Quest Scholarships
HP India’s Managing Director Ketan Patel was present at the event and revealed “Gaming and esports are among the fastest-growing competitive pursuits in India and globally. It is a stage on which Indian talent has the potential to compete with the best in the globe.” As part of the Indian technology market, HP wants to make the gaming ecosystem more inclusive and offer a platform for esports talent in the country. The scholarship program announced seeks to promote esports talent in India and offer them a platform to compete at the world stage according to Patel.

HP India FanFest 2020 Overview
The HP India Omen FanFest brought together members of esports and entertainment in India including Tirth Mehta, India’s first esports medalist, Akshat Rathee, MD & Founder, NODWIN gaming, Ulrich Schulze, SVP, Product Management at ESL, Abish Mathew- Standup Comic and other notable gamers. The event also featured the Omen Squad which includes members like professional live streamer Manasvivi, gamer, and content creator Ocean Sharma and esports pro gamer Hellranger.
The event featured multiple discussions by panelists and talked about how esports can be turned into a career. The scholarship registration will go live next month and eligible players have been requested to keep up with HP India’s social media profiles to sign up for the scholarship. HP India will announce the three gamers who are selected in June 2021.
