The Singaporean esports organization Paper Rex has expanded into VALORANT as they acquire the Singaporean VALORANT roster of Vindicta. Paper Rex being a new esports organization which was founded earlier this year in January is quickly growing from operating a single CS:GO roster to now also fielding a VALORANT lineup.
Paper Rex Expands Into VALORANT
Paper Rex which is jointly owned by popular Counter-Strike player Harley "dsn" Örwall, Matt “Djojo” Djojonegoro, and Nikhil "nikH" Hathiramani who is the chief editor of CSGO2ASIA, has acquired the services of one of the top Singaporean VALORANT rosters under its banner.
Formerly known as Vindicta, the team witnessed immense success in the recently concluded Cyber Games Arena Pacific Open - Singapore Qualifier. Vindicta fought its way through the single-elimination bracket to reach the finals dropping just one map in the process, they did face tough resistance in the finals but managed to qualify for the main event where the best teams from across Southeast Asia will be competing for a total prize pool of $20,000.
Vindicta will be competing as Paper Rex moving ahead and the roster comprises of the following players,
- Brandon “Brxndon” Goh
- Javier “Egoist” Chua
- Joshua “JdFaker” Fok
- Jerry “pndmonia” Ong
- Jorell “Retla” Teo
Talking about why Paper Rex acquired Vindicta as their VALORANT roster the organization states that “The sights were set on a roster that we know had the talent and motivation to succeed in this new adventure. The boys from Vindicta are not new faces to us, with all the players having played competitively Counter-Strike previously for a number of years.”
The future of the teams seems to be packed with a number of local tournaments like BRSG Community Series, Bad Blood Season 1, Versus Asia VALORANT Tournament, and the biggest tournament of them all Cyber Games Arena Pacific Open which is an officially a part of the ‘Ignition Series’.
The organization has not found success with its CS:GO roster so far with plenty of unsatisfactory results since its formation back in January, but its VALORANT roster looks much more promising. If they continue to work hard and stay dedicated the team surely stands a chance at becoming a top-ten within Asia, though to attain this Paper Rex would have to perform really well at CGA Pacific Open where the best VALORANT teams from across SEA will be gathering for an intense faceoff.
