  • Viper, Ucal And Untara's contracts have been terminated upon mutual agreement.
  • This comes after Griffin's relegation and announcement of "contract termination and other options".

Team Griffin has officially terminated their contract with Dohyeon “Viper” Park, Woohyeon “Ucal” Son and Uijin “Untara” Park in mutual agreement they announced on Twitter.

The announcement comes following a Facebook post in which Griffin stated that "contract termination and other options" were being discussed with the players. "We are deeply sorry and thankful to the fans who have supported Griffin throughout the years. We will come back as a new Griffin. Thank you," they said.

During the LCK Spring Split, the team faced heavy losses to Seorabeol Gaming and the team’s defeat against SANDBOX Gaming meant they got relegated to lower leagues. Griffin had added support player Kim “WADID” Bae-in a few weeks before but still finished with a 5-13 record. Griffin has still chosen to retain jungler Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong as their mid and ADC is let go.

Griffin had been part of quite the scandal in which its parent company Still8 apologized last November for “unfair contracts” and let Ji-hoon “Chovy” Jeong, Si-woo “Lehends” Son and Hyeon-Joon “Doran” Choi depart the team with “mutual consent.” This followed the departure of former coach Dae-ho “cvMax'' Kim after several complaints from players about physical and verbal abuse. Riot Korea also indefinitely suspended cvMax after he got hired to coach DragonX.

Griffin attempted to overhaul the roster with the signings of top laner Park “Untara” Ui-jin, mid laner Yoo “Naehyun” Nae-hyun and coach Han “H Dragon” Sang-yong in December. Ucal came on in January, but the team continued to struggle during the split. Griffin seems to be on a path of rehauling much of their roster if they have any hopes to rejoin the LCK. As of now, the organisation continues its downward spiral.
