T1 and Team Nigma were the most underperforming teams on the first day of ONE Esports Singapore Major wild card, March 27, 2021. Both the teams lost all three of their respective series and now find themselves, on the brink of elimination from the ongoing Major. It is to be noted here that both T1 and Nigma are the only teams in the wild card that are not fielding their original five-man rosters. On the other hand, Team Liquid was the star performer on the first day winning all the matches that they played. T1 and Nigma now have a tough second day awaiting them as only three out of the six teams in the wild card are going to proceed ahead to the group stage.

T1 and Team Nigma suffer heavy losses on Singapore Major day 1

Team Nigma's underwhelming day 1 performance

Team Nigma had a rough start in the opening series of the day against Team Liquid as they got crushed ‘2-0’. Coach, Roman "rmN-" Paley, is playing in place of offlaner, Ivan Borislavov "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov, as the latter was unable to attend the Major due to health issues.

In their second series against PSG.LGD, Nigma had their short-lived moments where they looked strong but the games were majorly dominated by the Chinese squad. After losing the first match, Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi and rmN- decided to switch roles but this did not help either, as they lost the second game as well.

Nigma’s draft and gameplay looked the best in the first match of the third and final series against AS Monaco Gambit. They had a relatively high chance of winning but Miracle-’s decision to not pick up a BKB on Gyrocopter seemingly led to their downfall in the match. In the second game, they were once again outplayed as they lost their third series ‘2-0’.

T1's lackluster day 1 performance

T1 had a miserable first series against AS Monaco Gambit as they lost 2-0 in less than an hour. The SEA team is also playing the tournament with a stand-in. Korean player, Lee "Forev" Sang-don, is playing in place of offlaner, Carlo "Kuku" Palad, who was unable to attend the Major due to health issues.

Their second series against Vici Gaming was yet another stomp as the Chinese team outplayed them in all departments to take a 2-0 victory. Their final match against Liquid was one of the most one-sided ones on the day as T1 lost the series in under 50 minutes.

Both, T1 and Team Nigma, have been unable to win a single game and find themselves in a very precarious spot going into the second day.
