Alliance’s 2-1 victory over Team Liquid in the EU 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division last night has secured them a top-two finish and hence, a berth in the ONE Esports Dota 2 Singapore Major 2021. Their victory also means that Team Nigma, who had won their series against High Coast Esports earlier in the day, is also through to the Singapore Major, courtesy of Team Liquid’s defeat. Both these teams will join Team Secret, Virtus.Pro and Na’Vi as the first teams to qualify for the Singapore Major, the first major of the DPC season.
The tournament will take place from March 27 to April 4, 2021 in a LAN setting. Only one Major slot from the EU DPC now remains to be taken, with Team Liquid, OG, and Tundra Esports vying for it.

Alliance, Nigma, and Team Secret to represent EU at ONE Esports Dota 2 Singapore Major 2021
Team Nigma was one of the four directly invited teams to the EU 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division with most Dota 2 fans expecting them to secure a slot in the Major. However, Alliance came in through the qualifiers after they were excluded from the pool of directly invited teams of Nigma, OG, Liquid, and Secret. Courtesy of their second-place finish, which is ahead of three of the four directly invited teams, they now shut down all critiques who supported the decision of them not deserving a direct invite spot.
Additionally, since they have finished in the second spot, Alliance has directly moved on to the Singapore Major’s group stages. On the other hand, Nigma has only been able to secure a spot in the Wild Cards.
Alliance ended their EU DPC campaign with five wins and two losses after seven series, having lost only to Team Secret and Nigma. Nigma, on the other hand, is currently placed at the number three spot with four wins and three losses as they lost to Team Secret, OG and Vikin.gg

Who is going to join these three teams at the Major?
Only one series is left to be played in the EU DPC League. OG and Team Secret face-off against each other tonight.

The equation is very simple. If OG managed to win against Team Secret, they will secure the last Major slot from the region. However, if they lose, there will be a three-way tiebreaker among OG, Liquid, and Tundra Esports. The winner of this tiebreaker, then, will be granted the fourth and final Major slot.
