A Dota 2 anime, Dragon’s Blood, has been announced by Valve in collaboration with Netflix. In a piece of very overwhelming news for the Dota 2 fans earlier today, Valve shared that this is an all-new anime series exclusively based on the Dota 2 universe and that it would be getting an official release on Netflix. Titled 'DOTA: Dragon’s Blood', it is going to be an eight episode anime series with Dragon Knight as its protagonist. Dota 2 Anime Dragon’s Blood Release Date

Dota 2 Anime Dragon's Blood is scheduled to release on March 25th, 2021, just two days prior to the kick off of the first Major of the DPC season, ONE Esports Dota 2 Singapore Major.

Dota 2 Anime: Everything else you need to know

Besides having Dragon Knight at its helm, DOTA: Dragon’s Blood is also going to have a princess in the form of Mirana. The plot of the anime series says,

“Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight, becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.”

More details about this anime are expected to be revealed along with the teaser and the trailer’s release.

Production Crew

Apart from Valve, some reputed and accomplished video creators and producers have put in efforts to put together this Dota 2 anime series. It is being produced by American screenwriter, Ashley Miller who is best known for his work on television series like Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Fringe. He has also worked on films like Thor and X-Men: First Class. 

The anime is also being animated by popular animation Korean studio, Studio MIR, which has previously worked on projects like The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender.
