Week 4 Recap of the 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division [All Regions]
  • Week 4 of the 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division concluded yesterday, February 14.
  • Team Secret, Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere have booked a spot in the first Major of the 2021 DPC Season 1.
  • We take a look at the points table of the Upper Division in all the six regions after the conclusion of the fourth week.

Week 4 (February 8-14) of the 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division became a decisive one as teams like Secret, Virtus.pro, Natus Vincere booked berths in the first Major of the season, ONE Esports Dota 2 Singapore Major 2021. We also witnessed that the 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division in the EU, SEA, and Chinese region is now highly competitive as almost every team can occupy the remaining Major slots. Though NA, SA, and CIS are still wide open, one can easily predict the teams’ final list in these regions that are going to make it to Singapore.

Before we head into week 5 in the 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division, let us look at what exactly panned out and where the teams stand in each region’s points table after the fourth week.

Week 4 recap of 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division

1. Southeast Asia (SEA)

Neon Esports continued their unbeaten run at the SEA 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division as they registered a comfortable 2-0 win over Vice Esports in the fourth week. They are now only one series away from qualifying to the Major. Fnatic is also a top contender as they won both of their series in week 4. Following them are TNC Predator and T1, who have a similar W-L record of 3-2. BOOM Esports, who just acquired 23savage as their stand-in carry player for the remaining two series, will want to win their remaining series to have a chance of going to Singapore.

2.  Europe (EU)

Team Secret have become the first team to qualify for the Singapore Dota 2 Major, courtesy of their dominating run in the EU 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division. After one win and one loss in the fourth week, Alliance is now positioned at the number two spot in the table. OG, who were looking strong in the tournament, was handed a massive upset by Vikin.gg who kept their hopes alive due to this win.

3. China

Because of the Chinese New Year, the China 2021 DPC Season 1 is on a break from February 7 till February 23. No matches were held in the region after the third week.

4. Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)

Natus Vincere and Virtus.pro are the two other teams who made it to the Singapore Dota 2 Major after victories last night against AS Monaco Gambit and Team Spirit. Though two out of the three spots are already filled from the region, the race for the third and final spot is still on for every team. However, Team Spirit and AS Monaco Gambit will be the two favorites to grab this last spot.

5. North America (NA)

Evil Geniuses are wreaking havoc in the NA DPC 2021 Season 1: Upper Division as they remain undefeated with five wins in five series at the end of the fourth week. Following them is another solid team, Quincy Crew, who has also been unbeaten with four wins in four series. Undying vs Sadboys was the most hyped match of the week, which ended in the former’s favor. As a result, with just a single loss against their name, Undying can surprise the NA Dota 2 fans if they pull off wins in their remaining series against 4 Zoomers and Quincy Crew.

6. South America (SA)

Beastcoast is the only team in all six regions of the 2021 DPC Season 1: Upper Division that have not lost even a single map. They have won all of their five series 2-0 and are looking strong for a first-place finish. Infamous, who was considered as a top contender to reach the Major, suffered back to back losses and are now at risk of getting relegated to the Lower Division. Since only two slots from the region are allocated for the Major and most teams can still occupy them, an intriguing week 5 awaits the SA Dota 2 fans.
