Team Crocodile’s Road To The Finals Of Kagura Championship

Crocodile is a relatively new Dota 2 team hailing from China. One of the more recognizable players in the roster is Xu "Sakata" Zichen who is known for his time with IG.Vitality from 2016-18 when they managed a 13-16th place finish at TI7.

The squad has had a great run in the playoffs of the Kagura Championship. Their upper bracket round 1 match was a 2-1 victory over Motivate.Trust Gaming, a series that went all the way to a gruelling 80-minute third game, post which they were knocked down to the lower bracket after a 1-2 loss against team Dragon. Thereafter, they managed a 2-0 win versus Xtreme Gaming..

Their next series came against Xu "BurNIng" Zhilei’s squad, Please Answer:1988, which they were able to close out 2-1. Crocodile then redeemed their earlier loss by defeating Dragon 2-1 in the lower bracket Finals, thus, securing a spot in the grand finals.

They will certainly be happy with their performances in this tournament considering they were unable to qualify to the DPC-China 2021 S1 as they were knocked out in the finals of open qualifiers #2.

Neon Esports’ Road To The Finals Of Kagura Championship

Widely considered to be the best team in the tier 2 circuit of SEA Dota, the Filipino team Neon Esports is living up to its reputation in the Kagura Championship. They have had a spectacular run in the tournament as they reached the grand finals via the upper bracket, losing just a single match in the process.

Their upper bracket round 1 series against Xtreme Gaming was a cakewalk as they ended the series in just 45 minutes, winning it 2-0. They lost the first match in the next round against Army Geniuses but came back strong to win the series 2-1. The upper bracket final was won 2-0 by Neon Esports as they convincingly defeated Dragon and secured a spot in the grand finals.

The Filipinos have had an amazing start to 2021 as they were also able to qualify to the Upper Division of SEA-DPC 2021.

Neon Esports will undoubtedly be the favourites in the grand finals considering the results thus far. Both them and Crocodile have contrasting motivations to win this tournament. Neon Esports will want to win in order to enter the DPC season on a positive note. While for Crocodile, this could be an incentive to stick together for future tournaments, not to mention they'd be receiving a decent haul of cash.
