There are some big changes happening in Fnatic. For one, they recently picked up Filipino player Raven to replace 23savage in the carry role. Now, it has been revealed that Singaporean offlaner Daryl Koh "iceiceice" Pei Xiang will be taking a break from competitive play until the restart of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit.
Instead, former T1 offlaner, Lee "Forev" Sang-don will be playing in Fnatic as a stand in.
IceIceIce Will Be Replaced By Forev Temporarily
In a social media post announcing their direct invite to the upcoming ESL One Thailand 2020 tournament, Fnatic revealed that IceIceIce will be taking a break until the restart of the DPC and that Forev will be standing in for them in this tournament.
This is quite a surprising move for long-term fans of Fnatic. Iceiceice has become a staple of the SEA team and his absence will certainly mean that Fnatic will not be in their best shape heading into the ESL One Thailand 2020 tournament.
Considering the fact that Geek Fam has also lost arguably their best player and TNC Predator’s recent volatility in form, it looks like this tournament is wide open for the taking. In fact, Chinese teams Sparkling Arrow Gaming and RNG can be considered as the favourites for this tournament.
The ESL One Thailand 2020 Dota 2 tournament features a $200,000 prize pool and is being organized by ESL in association with Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism & Sports and the Sports Authority of Thailand. The tournament will exclusively take place for the Asian and Americas region.
