  • N0tail talks about how he maintains his motivation, what gives him a 'Nerd Boner' and the magic of Dota 2.

After their impressive triumph over Nigma earlier yesterday, N0tail did an interview with the crew casting the ESL One Los Angeles 2020 Online League.

The player spoke at length about his motivations and what keeps him constantly improving and looking for the next challenge ahead amongst other things.

N0tail on how he maintains his motivation

“Dota is a very beautiful game, probably where most of my drive and passion comes from. The game is ever challenging, ever deeper. Atleast for now, I feel there is still so much to do on a team level, you can get really really far. You can become such a scary and disgusting team to play against.

Nobody has ever reached the ceiling yet, so I wanna be the first to get there. I see how (to get there), that’s probably why I really love the game so much. I still think there is more to be done.”

N0tail on what gives him a ‘Nerd Boner’

“I still the ceiling is still further up. Even though we got really good, even though we did certain things that were really next level, (atleast in my opinion) things that people take for granted, even certain simple things, when you put them all together, you see some crazy good stuff.

That’s what really gets me a ‘Nerd Boner’. It is when it really clicks, everybody is individually shining but you see them play as a team or like you see a team play as a team. It is all the 5 individuals coming through, individually, but with the unity."

N0tail on the Magic of Dota 2

"You have these tournaments where you get these moments, when you put two really good teams up against each other and both are really feeling it... Those kinds of games where you get to test the theory and everyone is being tested, they are feeling the pressure, some people turn that into power.

When two teams meet when they’re both playing their best Dota, that’s magic. I love that and I am always looking forward to that”
