Geek Fam to miss ESL One Hamburg Due to Visa Issues

Geek Fam have announced that despite qualifying for ESL One Hamburg 2019, the team will not be able to participate due to visa issues. The exact nature of the issues has not been disclosed in the official announcement and it is currently unknown whether the players’ visas were rejected or if other issues such as an inability to secure suitable application dates were the cause for the team’s inability to participate.

After a clean sweep victory over Sterling Global Dragons in the SEA Qualifier of the tournament, Geek Fam had booked their slot at the main event due to take place in Hamburg, Germany from the 25th to 27th of October, 2019.

The organization has also announced that they are currently focusing on securing USA visas in order to participate in the upcoming Dota 2 Minor, The Summit 11. 

Geek Fam qualified for Minor after taking down Cignal Ultra in the SEA Qualfiers and are expected to compete at the main event which is set to take place from November 7th to 10th in Los Angeles, California.
