The SEA Regional qualifiers for the Summit 11 Dota 2 Minor has finally come to a close. In the end, it was Geek Fam who managed to come out on top of the SEA region beating Cignal Ultra in the Grand Finals to book their spot in the first Minor of the season.

Geek Fam had an undefeated run to the Grand Finals, with two back-to-back 2-0 victories against Team Jinesbrus and BOOM Esports. They looked dominant and didn’t put a foot wrong in this phase.

Cignal Ultra, however, had to go through a gruelling run through the Lower Brackets to make it to the Grand Finals, after an 0-2 loss against BOOM Esports in the opening series of the qualifier. However, they managed to recover and struck back with victories over Team Jinesbrus and BOOM Esports to make their way back into the Grand Finals.

The Grand Finals was quite a close affair. Although Geek Fam managed to secure Game 1 with a relatively straightforward victory, Cignal Ultra struck back in Game 2 with their signature Magnus-Juggernaut strategy. Game 3 was the closest game of the series, with back-and-forth team fights and some breathtaking Dota. In the end, Geek Fam won this game by virtue of a sick play from Raven’s Spectre.

Geek Fam won the final game of the series in 40 minutes, securing the series 3-1 and booked a place at the first Minor of the season.
