  • Former long-standing Na'Vi member Edward might once again be returning to competitive Counter-Strike.
  • Edward left Na'Vi in July 2020 after having played with the team for about 9 years across CS 1.6 and CS:GO.
  • He will reportedly be playing along with a bunch of young talented FPL-C players under the banner of 'Selectah'.

Ukrainian rifler Ioann "Edward" Sukhariev who is a former member of the CIS based esports organization Natus Vincere, might once again return to competitive CS:GO as per a report by ESTNN. The 33-year-old spent the majority of his professional career playing as an entry fragger for Na’Vi, competing with them across both their CS 1.6 and CS:GO rosters. Edward has not participated in any top-tier tournaments since Oct 2020, though he plans on returning to the competitive front soon once again. As of now, no date pertaining to Edward’s return has been confirmed, but we do know that his new team will continue to play under the banner of Selectah.

Ex Na’Vi Rifler Edward Might be Planning a CS:GO Return

Edward was benched from Na’Vi in May 2019 to make way for their current in-game leader Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov. He was loaned for a short period, about 4 months to Winstrike Team, returning to Natus Vincere’s bench once again in Sept 2019.

After taking a year-long break from competitive CS:GO, Edward returned with a team called Selectah. Unfortunately, the team did not play together for a long time only competing for a month before disbanding. Now, almost 6 months later Edward wants to have another go, this time planning to compete with a bunch of young FPL-C talents.

This new team will once again be playing under the banner of Selectah, but it is unclear at the moment who these players are or when do they plan to start competing. But one thing which is clear at this point is that Edward will be both, the captain as well as the in-game leader for this new CS:GO roster.

The grind will be exceptionally tough with the entire CIS region witnessing an uprise in the level of competition, as teams like Gambit and Virtus.pro continue to deliver such strong performances in the top-tier of international Counter-Strike. They would have to start strong from the grassroots level tournaments and work their way up the ladder.

It will be interesting to see how Edward and his team manage to conquer this challenge, and even if they are not able to make it into the international scene this opportunity will bring a lot of young and talented CS:GO players from the region into the spotlight.

For Selectah CS:GO roster was as follows,

  • Ioann "Edward" Sukhariev
  • Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný
  • Joakim "disco doplan" Gidetun
  • Rasmus "SandeN" Sanden
  • Justinas "jL" Lekavicius
