- Danish rifler niko permanently joins OG's active CS:GO roster a day after ISSAA moves to their bench.
- Niko previously played for OG as a stand-in for 2 CS:GO tournaments - DH Masters Spring 2021: EU Qualifier and ESL Pro League S13.
- This marks the start of OG's rebuilding phase, as one more CS:GO player is still left to be signed to complete the lineup.
Danish rifler Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen has officially joined OG’s CS:GO roster as their fourth permanent player, with the organization kick-starting its rebuilding phase. The 22-year-old had been introduced to the team as a stand-in, following Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt’s departure from the active lineup. Niko has already competed with OG in 2 CS:GO tournaments - DreamHack Masters Spring 2021: European Qualifier and ESL Pro League Season 13. Though OG could not deliver strong performances, they still functioned well overall with the addition of some much-needed firepower. The announcement comes just a day after OG benched Issa “ISSAA” Murad, which was a mutual decision between the two parties.

Danish rifler niko joins OG’s CS:GO team
The former Heroic rifler niko had been benched by the Danish organization in February, earlier this year. But soon after, he was picked up by OG on loan who were scouting players at the time to join their roster. It seems the 22-year-old was able to impress his new organization as they have officially announced him as their new permanent player.
Niko rose to fame last year as he helped his previous team Heroic win the prestigious ESL One: Cologne 2020 - Europe, where they were the underdogs. It was a fairytale run for the Danish organization, which climbed the ladder to become the best CS:GO team in the world at one point in time.
He has previously played with both Valdemar “valde” Vangså and Casper “ruggah” Due, joining them once again this time under the banner of OG who is undergoing a massive revamp. The organization has already suffered quite heavily in the last few months, but look to change their fate with this rebuild.
Niko had a few words to say about joining this new team, “I’m happy to announce that I have signed for OG. It’s an amazing opportunity for me and I’m sure we’re going to achieve great things together. Also, I want to say thanks to Heroic for the memories and time together, I’m going to miss my previous teammates, but I’m also excited to open a new chapter of my career and join the OG ranks. I will do my best to make OG-fanbase proud!”
OG still have a vacant spot on their roster and according to their previous statement, they will be trying out various players to see who fits the team well before going ahead and signing them. Luckily, OG have around a months time on their hand to figure out their next steps before they participate in BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2021.
