  • G2 Esports' entry fragger huNter- in a recent Serbian interview revealed that both he and nexa had offers from OG and Fnatic.
  • The 2 organizations had approached them right after the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019 with an aim to establish an international CS:GO roster.
  • However, as soon as G2 Esports approached them they dropped all other offers and quickly took that up.

Nemanja "huNter-" Kovac is a talented entry fragger who is currently playing alongside his cousin brother Nikola “NiKo” Kovac and longtime teammate Nemanja "nexa" Isakovic on G2 Esports. But there was a chance that both he and nexa could have been playing for either OG or Fnatic today, as revealed by huNter- himself in a recent Serbian interview with TV ARENA ESPORT. The talented duo was in great demand after their streak of brilliant performances with the Croatian esports organization CR4ZY, which led to multiple organization reaching out to them right after their inspiring performance at StarLadder Berlin Major 2019.

The Bosnian-Serb duo of huNter- and nexa were in great demand after the streak of brilliant performances they put up along with their former team CR4ZY. The two took the top-tier of competitive Counter-Strike by storm and attracted a lot of positive attention from multiple organizations.

Right after their inspiring 9th-11th finish at the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019 where they went down fighting against Na’Vi in a close fought ‘2-1’ thriller, both huNter- and nexa received offers from OG and Fnatic, according to what he said in a recent interview online.

OG at the time was gathering players from all across Europe to build an international CS:GO roster. Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt was the one who had reached out to huNter- followed by nexa, in an attempt to recruit them for what would have become OG’s opening CS:GO roster later that same year.

At the same time, Fnatic who had missed out on the Berlin Major was also trying to make a new roster and were undergoing a lot of shuffles. Having operated an all-Swedish lineup for a long time, Fnatic wanted to go international and had approached the huNter-nexa duo to come onboard.

While they were discussing the offers from the two organizations, G2 Esports swooped in with their offer something that the two could not resist and went ahead with. In the interview huNter- described it as,

“We didn’t think a lot when we heard that G2 wanted both of us as a package. NBK wanted to make a team which is OG now, so he called me, then he called nexa. Fnatic also wanted to become international.”

It is interesting to see how the two players as a unit were such hot prospects towards the end of 2019 and how well things have turned out for them, nexa acting as G2 Esports’ IGL while huNter- finally got an opportunity to play alongside his cousin NiKo. A deal that cost G2 Esports quite a fortune and till now has not paid out too well in return.
