  • Fer and TACO joked around with CeRq and Ethan during a technical timeout yesterday.
  • The whole conversation had plenty of callbacks to the recent controversy between FURIA and MIBR.
  • MIBR defeated EG to secure a slot in the grand final.

The upper bracket final between MIBR and EG came to an end with the Brazilian squad surviving a close ‘2-1’ faceoff to make it all the way to the Grand Finals of BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 American Finals. The intense faceoff proceeded without much of a problem except for one instance where Fernando “fer” Alvarenga and Epitácio “TACO” de Melo bantered with a couple of players from EG.

Fer and TACO Joke Around

Soon after an unexpected technical problem paused the game due to Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz lagging out of the game. Fer and TACO jumped in to chat with Cvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov and Ethan “Ethan” Arnold from Evil Geniuses, as they went on to destress themselves from the pressure of the hyped match by engaging in some harmless banter.

CeRq called the technical pause for EG after stanislaw disconnected from the game to which both fer and TACO replied simultaneously, asking if it was a technical problem. CeRq answered their query by saying that it was indeed a technical problem and that Peter (stanislaw) had lagged out of the game due to it.

This is when MIBR players started to pull EG’s legs as TACO replied by saying “video?”. By asking that question TACO was actually referring to the recent controversy that had taken place between FURIA and MIBR. The starting point of which was a video uploaded by Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo on his Twitter account that acted as a proof showing MIBR facing an almost 10-second lag.

CeRq did not disappoint as he played along saying that he had the video and will upload it after the game, similar to what FalleN had done when requesting the ‘round-reset’. TACO then went on and told CeRq to email him the video instead of uploading it, this time referring to a statement made by FURIA’s coach Nicholas “guerri“ Nogueira when he was explaining as to what happened between the two teams.

This was the crux of the banter as both Fer and TACO continued to chat with the EG players. Both CeRq and Ethan turned out to be great sports playing along with the MIBR players. Unfortunately, they could not keep pace with them in-game as MIBR overwhelmed them in the deciding match on Dust 2.

Despite EG reaching the map point first, they failed to close the map in time as MIBR turned the tide in the overtime to walk away as the victors. EG will now be facing off against FURIA Esports in the lower bracket finals later today.
