Out of all the possible things that could lead to a CS:GO match getting hindered, it was a forced Windows update that led to the match between Team Vitality and Ninjas in Pyjamas facing a short setback.
Playing the lower bracket elimination match against each other during DreamHack Masters Spring 2020: Europe, Team Vitality had to pause the game unexpectedly in the 9th round of the second game.
While the viewers were bewildered as to why the match was paused, because all the players were still present on the server and none of the teams had called for a tactical timeout, the casters came to their rescue by informing them that a forced windows update was the culprit behind the hold-up.
It was Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut whose PC had been forced to update the windows, as the caster clarified that “If you leave a Windows Update for too long it will just do it. That’s the thing. It will just like force it.”
Surprisingly ZywOo never disconnected from the server and was back shortly, as Vitality went on to dominate NiP on Nuke winning the match by a score of ‘16-3’. Unfortunately, they failed to win the decider on Inferno, losing the best-of-three series and getting eliminated from the tournament.
