Despite the recent lash back against Fernando “fer” Alvarenga for using ‘racist’ comments on his Twitch stream, the crowd seems to be backing MIBR pretty hard after their ‘2-1’ victory against Cloud9 in the semifinals of BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 American Showdown yesterday.
The Brazilian squad hustled hard and won the three-game series despite an early letdown, but the moment that managed to stand out amongst all their heroics was a hilarious attempt by fer, trk, and TACO, to recover an AWP on Overpass, that had been thrown out of bounds by Ricky "floppy" Kemery before being hunted down by the opposition.

The three Brazilian players tried to recover an AWP that lay out-of-bounds near the passage leading onto ‘A-Site’ from ‘Bench’ on Overpass. They tried multiple two-man boosts to get their hands on the rifle along with an unsuccessful three-man boost as well, but the sniper rifle eluded their attempts to remain just out of their reach.
It was a hilarious attempt by MIBR which also showed how calm the team was. At the end of this round MIBR were up ‘3-1’ on Overpass but unfortunately could not hold on to the lead and conceded the map to Cloud9.
The Brazilians were still confident in their approach going forward, which allowed them to equalise the series on Inferno and then win the match on Dust 2. MIBR now face Evil Geniuses in the Finals which is scheduled to take place later today.
