Dignitas are stepping into competitive Counter-Strike after a period of more than 16 months. After dropping their previous roster on 29th Aug 2018 they rebranded themselves as Dignitas, finally announcing their return with the legendary ‘87-0’ Ninjas in Pyjamas lineup, along with Hakon “hallzerk” Fjaerli from Norway.

Dignitas active lineup is as follows,

  • Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg

  • Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund

  • Richard “Xizt” Landström [IGL]

  • Adam “friberg” Friberg

  • Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli

While four of the five players from the historic NiP lineup will be playing in the active roster, Robin “Fifflaren” Johansson will be taking on the role of being their coach.

Fifflaren will be a valuable asset to the team and has been hired not just as a coach but also to take on some managerial roles. In a video released by Dignitas, it clear how involved Fifflaren was in the creation of this team, explaining the thought process behind each and every player.

He also went on to compare his vision to that of the French team Vitality of putting together a team of four experienced players alongside a talented AWPer.

Fifflaren went on to say the following,

“I'm super excited to be joining the DIG family. It was important for me to find an org who values the players and respects the process and I believe that I've done just that with DIG. I look forward to doing great things together, Let's go make history again."

With this announcement, the long-standing speculations have come true as the fabled reunion of some of the best players in Counter-Strike has taken place. It is still early to predict how good the team will perform, considering the abundance of talent present in other teams alongside the superb form many of them are currently in.

The youngest player on the team is hallzerk who is just 19-years-old, acting as the teams primary AWPer. The average age of the roster is 27 years, giving them a ton of experience and exposure but at the same time working against them in terms of reflex and skill ceiling.

Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund had a few words to offer,

“When this offer fell into my lap, I felt this was the best choice for my future of everything I had on the table. Mostly, because I didn't want to end my career already and that burning desire came into my core that I haven't felt for some time. Joining an organization like DIG is like a dream come true - mostly because of the people around it, the team itself and what the goals are for the future. I'm more excited to wake up every day knowing it'll be a battle, but a battle I will not give up that easily.”

The team might be seen in action soon, with earlier reports suggesting that the organization might be participating in the rumoured NA based league called ‘B Site’ alongside teams like MIBR, Cloud9, Gen.G Esports, and MAD Lions.
