FACEIT is ready to cease operations of its annual CS:GO league Esports Championship Series instead focusing on its new venture with the rumoured upcoming NA based league “B Site”, according to a report by DBLTAP.

Multiple sources have confirmed that a partnership has struck between FACEIT and B Site, with the former running production for the league, as a result, FACEIT had to shut down its online-based league ECS which ran for eight seasons.

A permanent name for the league is still not confirmed, but details pertaining to it has already been released. With teams requiring $2 Million to enter the league, while receiving part ownership of it.

Reportedly a few organizations have already been locked down by the league with teams like MIBR, Cloud9, Gen.G Esports, Dignitas, and MAD Lions, committed to entering the league which will eventually include a total of 12 teams.

With ESL Pro Tour and BLAST Premier already announced for 2020, the competitive CS:GO calendar is already quite packed, because of this B Site is will be overlapping with the upcoming seasons of ESL Pro League.

The parties involved have not yet given any official statement pertaining to the above report. But if this speculation turns out to be true it might result in the end of ECS whose last season was won by Astralis.

In its 8 seasons, ECS has given out a total of $6,195,000 in prize money with Astralis being the most successful team, winning four seasons (2, 5, 6, 8) of the tournament. No other team has won the tournament twice in its run from 2016 - 2019.
