Global Esports CEO Rushindra Sinha Reveals Future Plans For GE Kohliii

Global Esports earned a slot for itself in the Valorant International League in September 2022. The new task at its hand is to finalize its roster for VCT 2023 Kick-Off Saõ Paolo. Rushindra Sinha, founder and CEO of Global Esports, revealed that the organization would make changes to its current roster for the event. In his recent livestream, Sinha revealed the organization’s plans for its player Pranav “Kohliii” Kohli.

Sinha said that Global Esports is still trying to figure out about Kohli as he is still in the first year of his college.

Sinha said, “We are trying to figure out about Kohli right now because he is in college. He is, I think, in his first year, so he has three years of college remaining.” He later added, “How will we be able to move him to Korea? How will we be able to sponsor his work visa and have him transferred while he is a full-time student here? We are still trying to figure it out with Riot.”

Following this, he added that Riot might have a rule that does not allow students to participate, and technically Kohli is still a student. Further, he said that if Kohli drops out of college, then the organization can apply for his work visa.

“Riot may even have a rule that students won’t be able to play because, technically, on paper, he is a full-time student,” said Sinha. He further added, “He is admitted to a college if he drops out of college and withdraws his admission; then, we can do a work visa.”

He mentioned that he does not think the law allows one to be an active full-time student in one country and have a work visa for another. He further added that the organization is still figuring out and working with Riot. Following this, he said that the organization does not want a situation where anyone has to drop his education.

Sinha said, “I don’t know if an active full-time student can have a work visa and be in a different country while he is a full-time student in this country. I don’t think immigration, travel, or visa laws allow that. I don’t think that’s possible. So, we will have to figure that part out. Riot is helping us with that.” Following this, he added, “Kohli is working with us. We don’t want a situation where someone has to drop his education to be there. Rather he works and trains with the team and prepares for three years.”

He clarified that Global Esports has a franchise slot, and they are in the league for the long term. Following this, he mentioned that if Kohli does not get to participate in the coming three years, the organization will prepare him and make him the best player in the entire region.

Sinha said, “Like I said, we have a league franchise slot, and it isn’t going anywhere. It’s not like the teams will change every year. Now we have to think long term. We don’t have to think only about this season; we don’t have to think about what will happen in the tournament scheduled in the next six months. We have to think about what will happen in the next three, five, or ten years. If that means that Kohli will have to wait for three years before he can play in the league, so be it. In that time, we will prepare him and make him the best player in the entire region.”

Recently, Global Esports revealed Jordan “AYRIN” He as its import player for the Valorant International League. However, the organization is yet to disclose its remaining four players. Riot has declared 15th October as the ‘soft lock’ date for all the partnered teams to submit their rosters.
