Loco’s partnership with NBA2KL for the 2023 Season
Independent homegrown streaming platform Loco has exclusive streaming rights for the NBA2KL in India. It signed a five-year exclusive country broadcast deal and the two entities are entering their third year of collaboration. As part of the deal, Loco will be streaming all the matches from the 2023 season of the NBA 2K League.
The partnership between Loco and the NBA2KL has seen an overwhelming response from the community in India. Over the last few years, Loco has seen a surge in the popularity of the esports title of NBA2KL, resulting in rising viewership numbers. The 2022 season of NBA2KL saw a significant increase in viewership in comparison to the previous years across Loco. There was a 10x growth in Unique live views and the total views also increased by 500%.
In February, the NBA 2K League announced that the 2023 season would be hosted at the District E venue in Washington, D.C. The competition notably kicked off on 8th March and will run through 5th August. The League will be awarding $2.5 Million USD in cash prizes across the NBA 2KL 3v3 Blacktop Series tournaments, and the NBA 2K League 3v3 and 5v5 Playoffs.
The NBA 2K League season is separated into two splits of 3v3 and 5v5 sections for the first time. In the first split, the 3v3 tournaments played are Slam, Switch, Steal, and the 3V3 Playoffs and Finals. Meanwhile, the 5v5 tournaments for 2023 in Split 2 are Tipoff, Turn, Ticket, and the 5V5 Playoffs and Finals.
