Nexplay EVOS’ coach, Setsuna “Dogie” Ignacio believes that Blacklist International’s V33Wise duo remain as the best players in their respective roles in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports scene. Despite a lot of amateur standouts shocking fans in the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9, the Nexplay EVOS coach thinks that the dynamic duo were one of the main reasons for Blacklist International’s achievements last year. Dogie also shared that he may be leaving Nexplay Esports after the MPL PH Season 9 concludes as he wants to explore more opportunities in the MLBB esports and content creation scene.
Dogie admits that the V33Wise duo remain as the best MLBB pro players in their respective roles
Through a vlog posted by Dogie on his YouTube channel, the coach explains how the presence of Blacklist International’s iconic duo Danerie "Wise" James Del Rosario and Jonmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna were a big factor for the team in dominating last year’s MLBB esports scene. With the duo’s absence in the MPL PH Season 9, it will take a while for the team to build solid team chemistry.
“For Blacklist (International), I think it will take time to fix its synchronization because V33nus (OhMyV33NUS) and Wise were a big factor, we all know that,” said Dogie.
He also admitted that the dynamic duo, for him, remain as the strongest pro players in the MLBB esports scene.
“For me, the strongest core and funnel that arrived in Mobile Legends is Wise,” said Dogie. “The strongest pos 4 and shotcaller in Mobile Legends is V33nus.”
Dogie may be leaving Nexplay Esports after MPL PH Season 9
Later in the vlog, Dogie revealed that he is considering leaving his esports organization, Nexplay Esports in hopes of finding a fresh new environment to grow in the esports and content creation scene.
Nexplay Esports is the esports organization that handles the Philippines MLBB team Nexplay EVOS, in partnership with EVOS Esports, the Indonesian esports organization.
“Guys, I want to grow more, my growth factor within Nexplay is limited,” said the Nexplay EVOS coach.
He added that the veteran pro players of Nexplay EVOS such as Renejay "RENEJAY" Barcase and John "H2wo" Paul Salonga will most likely remain in the esports organization.
“They (RENEJAY and H2wo) already have their own lives, to be honest, I don’t want to hang on to them anymore,” said Dogie. “I want them to stand on their own feet, not as my pro players, I want them to be my business partners.”
Nexplay EVOS’ journey in the MPL PH Season 9 is far from over. The team aims to climb higher in ranks and secure a playoffs spot. It is scheduled to face Omega Esports on 2nd April.
