Through a post-match press conference, The Valley’s Gold Laner Peter "Basic" Lozano shared the difference between his career as a pro player in the Philippines (PH) and NA.
The Valley upsets Burn x Team Flash in the M4 World Championship playoffs
The Valley redeemed itself after a shaky run in the group stage with a dominant win against the Cambodian powerhouse squad, Burn x Team Flash.
The first game saw the NA squad stomping the Cambodian representative team with a convincing 10-4 kill score with its star Mid Laner Jang "Hoon" Seong-hun earning the MVP title. In the second game, the score difference went wider with The Valley winning with a 20-4 kill difference against Burn x Team Flash. This was all thanks to the NA squad’s Filipino Gold Laner Basic who finished with 12 kills, no deaths, and five assists in game 2.
Basic compares his MLBB career in PH and NA
Through a post-match press conference, Basic shared the stark difference between an MLBB pro player in the PH and in the NA region.
“In PH we got a Bootcamp, sponsors, all that… all of us are focused on playing in the game but in NA we got no one but ourselves,” explained the NA Gold Laner. ”We just have to be disciplined to practice and we gotta give time to it… without getting paid or something.”
He added that the only income they could get as a pro player in NA was from live streaming unlike his career under ONIC PH where they get paid while playing under the team.
The Valley will face Todak on 10th January at 7:00 PM (PHT). It will be interesting to see if the NA squad will be able to keep its momentum going in the M4 World Championship lower bracket.
