Smartphone brand TECNO Mobile has partnered with India esports tournament organizer JetSynthesys’ Skyesports to bring the Call of Duty Mobile POVA Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place in 2023 and will last for the entire year. This tournament will give an opportunity to all Call of Duty Mobile (COD Mobile) enthusiasts to come forward and prove their talent against the top guns from across India.
Skyesports brings a one-year-long Call of Duty Mobile tournament in partnership with TECNO Mobile
The first season of the tournament will feature the top teams from India fighting against each other in the Call of Duty Mobile Showdown. All the matches of this tournament will be livestreamed on the official social media channels of Skyesports, including YouTube. Furthermore, fans will get to watch the tournament in four different languages: Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu.
Although COD Mobile has a decent volume of audience in India, its esports scene is lagging behind its competitors, like Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and Free Fire. The Call of Duty Mobile POVA Cup might give COD Mobile the required boost it needs for the game’s esports scene to foster. The tournament will feature a year-long format spanning multiple seasons, offering amateur and pro players a chance to showcase and improve upon their skills and compete. These seasons will culminate in an intense Grand Finals set to take place at the end of 2023.
Talking about the collaboration between TECNO Mobile and Skyesports, CEO of TECNO Mobile India, Arijeet Talapatra, said, “In the current fiscal, India witnessed more than 50 crore citizens taking up gaming, which also means a noteworthy 12% increase from last year. India’s gaming sector registered a whopping $2.6 billion growth and is further expected to grow by 27% to reach the mark of $8.6 billion.” He added, “Call of Duty Mobile POVA Cup is an Annual property, which we have created in partnership with Skyesports to grow a community of mobile gaming lovers.”
Commenting on this, Shiva Nandy, founder and CEO of JetSynthesys’ Skyesports, said, “We are very excited to collaborate with TECNO POVA and to execute the Call of Duty Mobile POVA Cup.
