The opening match of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 8 Week 3 concluded with RSG PH taking the series win against Minana EVOS. While the Raiders took centerstage, the renowned White Tigers put up a valiant effort worthy of praise.

Through a post-match press conference, RSG PH’s iconic coach, Brian "Panda" Lim, shared an analogy that relates to how the team works together to achieve victory. According to him, the mentality he has instilled in his team along with a good amount of patience and planning was the key to their resurgence in the MPL PH Season 13.

Previous losing streak motivated RSG PH to improve its gameplan

After a dominant opening in the first week of the MPL PH Season 13 Regular Season, RSG PH fell into a losing streak. The team struggled to win against ONIC PH followed by a loss against ECHO then AP Bren.

However, the team was able to bounce back from its previous slump with a clean sweep against Minana EVOS. RSG PH’s head coach Panda shared how working on their game plan was key to the team’s Week 3 recovery.

“Before, everyone is scattered at random, but now, we have a plan, planning before the second turtle, planning before this and that. Without a plan, everything can be confusing,” he expressed. “So, that’s the key, how to stay calm and make a plan.”

Elaborating further, Coach Panda shared an analogy that relates to how the team works together to achieve a goal. According to him, a team needs to have a “driver” that leads the group to the right destination.

“If you are riding a bus full of passengers and there’s no driver, someone needs to step up on the driver’s seat and ride the bus and lead the way,” he said.

While a leader is necessary, it is also important for other members to share information to avoid roadblocks along the way.

“While the driver is driving, of course, there is a chance that he won’t know where to go… that is why the teammates need to have his back and help him navigate,” coach Panda added.

When asked who was leading RSG PH, the legendary coach explained that there isn’t a specific leader on the team. Rather, whoever fits the leadership role in a specific scenario would take charge.

“For example, on objectives, if they [the team] already want to push, they will ask Kousei because he is the Gold Laner… but regarding on other objectives [Lord, Turtle, etc.], of course, it’s the jungler and other’s would just add more information so the person who would do the shotcalling can do it properly,” Panda elaborately explained.

As the regular season of MPL PH Season 13 continues, RSG PH’s game plan shall be put to the test. The renowned Raiders are set to have their next match against TNC Pro Team on 6th April at 4:00 PM (PHT). Minana EVOS, on the other hand, will have another chance to bounce back in the regular season with a match against Omega Esports on 7th April at 4:00 PM (PHT).
