In the clip, Sahil "Omega" Jakhar, the in-game leader of Team SouL, can be heard saying, "Clear the two houses and look at the Amit house." This statement sparked speculations that the team’s coach, Amit Dubey, was involved in assisting them with unfair practices.
Team SouL's Success Stained by Cheating Allegations: Coach Amit Dubey Responds
In response to the cheating accusations, Amit Dubey addressed the situation through a livestream on his channel. He clarified that the Team SouL lineup had given his name to a Train compound as a friendly gesture during their practice sessions. This particular compound is situated to the west of the Ruins on the Erangel map, and Amit had frequently emphasized its significance to the team. He mentioned that they often rotated through this compound in their recent matches. Naman "Neyo," a player from Team SouL who was also present on the livestream, confirmed that they had named the surrounding compounds after their teammates as well. As of now, no investigation or official statement has been made by the tournament organizer regarding these allegations.
The current Team SouL lineup consists of Sahil "Omega" Jakhar, Harsh "Goblin" Paudwal, Sohail "Hector" Shaikh, Akshat "AkshaT" Goel, and Naman "Neyo," with Amit Dubey serving as their coach and Sid "Sid" Joshi as their manager. The team has achieved notable success in the Battlegrounds Mobile India scene, including winning the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series - Season 1. Since the game's return, they secured second and third positions in the Skyesports Champions Series and Villager Esports DOMIN8R Series, respectively.
Currently, Team SouL is competing in Nodwin Gaming's Champions Cup and, at the end of Day 1, they are placed fourth on the table. They are facing stiff competition from 31 other teams for a prize pool of INR 27,00,000.
