Team SouL’s professional Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) players, Sahil “Omega” Jakhar and Harsh “Goblin” Paudwal, recently discussed switching to New State Mobile due to BGMI’s unavailability. Omega and Goblin discussed that they could play both games simultaneously. Omega added that he heard many New State Mobile LAN tournaments are in the pipeline, which will be announced soon. Goblin said that better than just sitting in the bootcamp, they can play New State Mobile and enjoy LAN tournaments.
Omega and Goblin to discuss switching to New State Mobile with the team
In the recent Snapdragon Pro Series New State Mobile Open India, Team SouL’s BGMI pro Sohail “Hector” Shaikh played for TeamXSpark as the in-game leader (IGL). The team reached the grand finals and finished in the 16th position.
Omega recently played BGMI practice scrims with Goblin, Hemanth “Ultron” Sethi, and Naman “Neyo.” During this session, the players discussed Hector’s performance in the Snapdragon Pro Series New State Mobile Open India. Omega jokingly said, “We sent Hector to get some insights on the game. So that if we plan to enter New State Mobile esports, as a lot of tournaments are taking place, Hector will guide us.”
Goblin added that they could play both games simultaneously. Omega agreed with Goblin, and both decided that they could play and practice BGMI all day and play a couple of matches of New State Mobile at night. “Let’s wait for the news to be announced first. I have heard that there will be two to three LAN tournaments back to back,” Omega added. Following this, Goblin stated that Upthrust Esports is also hosting a New State Mobile LAN tournament.
Omega claimed that they would face losses if he and Goblin switched to New State Mobile. Following this, Goblin said, “Yes, but we will get to have fun in LAN events. Better than just sitting in the bootcamp, we will play LAN.” A fan asked Omega what losses they would face, but he refrained from disclosing further details about it.
Finally, Omega stated that he would discuss switching from BGMI to New State Mobile with the team.
The government of India removed BGMI from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store in July 2022. Since then, the game’s return has been uncertain. It was rumored that the game would return in January 2023, but it did not happen. Amid BGMI’s unavailability, New State Mobile has picked up the pace. Recently, there have been a lot of LAN tournaments for the game, including two major LAN events. As a result, a lot of BGMI players are switching from BGMI to New State Mobile for better opportunities.
