Indian esports caster Piyush “Spero” Bathla discussed the legacy of GodLike Esports’ professional Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) player Jonathan “JONATHAN” Amaral. He also mentioned several young players have the potential to become JONATHAN’s contenders in the future.

Spero reflects on JONATHAN’s legacy as an esports player

In a recent livestream, Spero reacted to a few YouTube videos of different esports players. After reacting to JONATHAN’s video, he spoke about the legacy the player has created and his potential contenders. He stated that JONATHAN has always focused solely on the game, avoiding any kind of controversy or distraction. He expressed his belief that it was the best way to become the best player. “You can see MortaL as well. He has also always focused on his game. Never got into any controversy. Likewise, JONATHAN also never got into much controversy. He has only focused on his game all his life and played extremely well. He has built a great legacy for himself,” he added.

Spero stated that many young players have the potential, including Harsh “Goblin” Paudwal, Shubham “NinjaJOD” Ranjan Sahoo, and Harsh “AquaNox” Rao, to become a contender to JONATHAN. Spero noted that he is not sure what happened to AquaNox’s performance recently but still considered him a strong contender. Additionally, Spero mentioned Global Esports’ Mohammad “Manya” Raja, who he described as a skilled in-game leader (IGL) and player.

Spero stated that the esports scene is constantly evolving, with new players emerging to challenge and surpass those who came before them. He added that although old players stay in the esports scene, new players eventually become better than them. “This has been happening in every game. After Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar came, then Virat Kohli, and now, maybe it is Shubhmam Gill’s turn. This has been happening, and this will keep happening. Generations keep ending; players will retire, new players will emerge, and life will continue,” he added.

JONATHAN is undoubtedly one of the best BGMI players in India. He has won numerous accolades throughout his career, including the most valuable player (MVP) title in the BGMI Master Series. Notably, he was nominated for the “Esports Mobile Player of the Year” award at the Esports Awards 2022, where he emerged as the runner-up.
