In a recent Instagram story, Skyesports Founder and CEO Shiva Nandy sparked a wave of excitement among gaming enthusiasts by suggesting the possibility of a LAN tournament for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) accompanied by a live audience. Skyesports has hosted a number of prominent events including the Skyesports Championship, Skyesports League, Skyesports Grand Slam, Skyesports Champions Series in the past. As a result, the statement made by Shiva Nandy has piqued the curiosity of fans and players alike, who eagerly anticipate the potential return of BGMI along with the electrifying atmosphere of esports events.

Skyesports’ BGMI  Events

Skyesports has been organizing tournaments for BGMI and PUBG Mobile since 2020. One of their notable events, Skyesports Championship 3.0, featured an impressive prize pool of Rs 26,00,000 and saw the participation of over 1000 teams. The grand finals showcased the skills of 18 teams. This event spanned approximately 22 days.

In 2022, Skyesports continued their successful run with events like Grand Slam 2022, Pro League, 7seas Invitational, and Streamer Showdown. Grand Slam 2022 attracted registrations from 3000 teams and offered a lucrative cash prize of ₹15,00,000. Skyesports has also achieved great success in organizing tournaments for various other games.

The concept of LAN tournaments holds a particular attraction, offering a unique and vibrant experience for players and audiences. Shiva Nandy's Instagram story shed light on this idea as he responded to a query regarding the timing of a Sky LAN tournament for BGMI and the possibility of accommodating an audience. In his reply, he expressed a resounding "yes" and suggested the potential venues for the grand event: either Bangalore or Bombay, two cities well-known for their enthusiasm for gaming and esports.
