In a recent livestream, GodLike Esports’ Arjun “SHADOW” Mandhalkar explained why he doesn’t want a coach for his team.
The pro players revealed that Ghatak always guides and helps the team.

In a recent livestream, Arjun “SHADOW” Mandhalkar was chatting with his audience and responding to their questions. During this session, one of his viewers asked him to hire a coach for his team, GodLike Esports, as the Battlegrounds Mobile India’s (BGMI) competition is getting tougher day by day with new teams emerging. Responding to this question, SHADOW revealed why he does not want a coach for his team. He also stated that Abhijeet “Ghatak” Andhare is always there to help him and guide the team.

SHADOW does not trust Indian coaches

The current roster of GodLike Esports did not have a coach since the start of its PUBG Mobile/BGMI journey. However, the team still managed to win multiple titles, including the PUBG Mobile India Series 2020 and the PUBG Mobile Club Open - Fall Split: South Asia. Furthermore, the team also represented India on a global stage on multiple occasions, including the PUBG Mobile Club Open - Fall Split Global Finals and the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021: Grand Finals.

Responding to the question put forward by one of his fellow viewers, SHADOW said, “To be honest, I do not trust Indian coaches. There are only a few coaches that do their job well and actually work. Rest all seems fake to me, and I don’t want a fake coach.”

Ghatak has been an integral part of the current roster of GodLike Esports and all its victories. He used to be the In-game leader (IGL) of the team, but in the last couple of years, he has not played any matches. However, he has been guiding his team behind the screen.

SHADOW revealed that Ghatak helps the team and guides it. “If I ever need help, I have Ghatak. If I do anything wrong or whenever I need guidance, I ask Ghatak for his advice. He is always there to guide us. He cares about the team’s performance more than me. He pays more attention towards the game than me.”

In a previous livestream, SHADOW revealed that the main reason why he left TSM India was the differences between him and the team’s coach. He said, “In TSM India, there was a coach as well as an Analyst, but I used to do everything. Because in the end, I had to do everything.” He also stated that he had to do most of the work, and the coach and analyst just used to provide him with the stats of other teams. “They just used to give me stats of every other team. I had to do everything else,” added SHADOW.

GodLike Esport currently has seven players on the team, including Ghatak. The organization has not yet revealed which four players will represent it once the game returns and the esports scene resumes. With seven of the best players on the team, it will be interesting to see who will be in the playing four and who will be benched.
