The grand finals felt poetic for both teams as Sengoku Gaming was the team that dropped Donuts USG in the group stage. Both teams faced off in the grand finals with Donuts USG hungry for revenge. However, Sengoku Gaming asserted its dominance during the first match.

Donuts USG managed to even the odds in the second round but they fell deeply in the succeeding matches as Sengoku Gaming kept its momentum going. Donuts USG put up a good fight but Sengoku Gaming showed amazing team chemistry and lane rotations.

Prior to winning the Wild Rift Japan Cup 2021, Sengoku Gaming already had a wide portfolio of victories in the Wild Rift esports scene in Japan. Some of these victories include the MadPlay Tournament #2, REIGN General #1, and the X-MOMENT Invitational.

The Japanese team was first established in February 2021 by Ryosuke “iwamoto” Iwamoto with the goal of becoming one of the pioneers of the Wild Rift esports scene in Japan. Sengoku Gaming’s current team roster is composed of two Korean players and four Japanese players.

  • Nao "mochi" Chiba

  • Toshihiro "Kai" Shibuya

  • Lee Ho "Rush" Yeon

  • Kim Do "HAK" Yeop

  • Takuto "WAN" Kusakabe

  • Ken "Dejiwo" Nakamura

After dominating the Wild Rift esports scene in Japan, Sengoku Gaming will be looking to prove itself against the top teams from different regions in the upcoming Wild Rift Horizon Cup 2021. This international event will serve as a warm-up competition for the teams who will be competing in the upcoming Wild Rift World Championship 2021. The event will be held in Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre on 13th November and will last until 21st Nov 2021.

It will be interesting to see how Sengoku Gaming shall perform on the international esports stage for Wild Rift against the top teams from different regions.
