Renowned Indian Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) pro player and content creator Tanmay “Scout” Singh hosted a PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2022 watch party on his YouTube channel on 6th January. A few other BGMI pro players, including Team SouL’s in-game leader (IGL) Sahil “Omega” Jakhar, joined the watch party on Discord. During this session, Omega received backlash from Scout’s viewers for criticizing a team's playstyle in the PMGC 2022. Immediately, Scout jumped to Omega’s defense and called Omega the best IGL in BGMI.

At the end of the second match of PMGC 2022 Day 1, Alpha7 Esports and iNCO Gaming were the last two surviving teams. Alpha7 Esports had three alive and one knocked players, whereas iNCO Gaming had only three players alive. Alpha7 Esports’ knocked-player was far away from his teammates. Instead of trying to revive the knocked player, Alpha7 Esports’ Lucas “Carrilho” Carrilho pushed iNCO Gaming and was eliminated. Following this, the blue zone also closed in unfortunately and the remaining two players of Alpha7 Esports were also eliminated.

Omega pointed out the mistakes made by Alpha7 at the end of the match, criticized the players for their mistakes, and explained what the team could have done better to win the match. The viewers on Scout’s stream did not appreciate Omega’s criticism, and Omega received backlash for his views.

Addressing the trolls, Scout muted himself on the group call on Discord and defended Omega. “I am not interrupting anyone because there are better IGLs than me on Discord (in the watch party). Before the ban, I feel, based on the previous performance, Omega is the best BGMI IGL.

Following this, he claimed that whatever Omega was saying was very informative and that the audience should learn from him. “Even I got to learn a lot of things when Omega was speaking. So don’t take everything negatively. The reason why Omega is here is that he is better than everyone else. So learn from everything he is saying,” he added. “He is saying a lot of informative things, and if you learn from him, you might find it useful in the future.”

Omega joined Team SouL as the IGL of the team earlier this year and led the team to various successes in multiple tournaments with expert shot-calling and great execution. Under his guidance, Team SouL emerged as the champions of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series by a considerable margin. He also demonstrated a commendable performance in the BGMI Masters Series and Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown 2022, where Team SouL finished in the 6th and 7th positions, respectively.
