Skylightz Gaming’s professional player Saumraj asked his audience not to lose hope for BGMI's return and he claimed it would come next year.
The pro player claimed the game would return with a tournament.
Following this, he claimed that the game’s hype is dying because no one wants to invest in tournaments, and players have stopped playing together.

In a recent livestream, Skylightz Gaming’s professional Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) player Saumya “Saumraj” Raj was hosting a watch party of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022 (PMGC 2022). During the livestream, one of his viewers asked him if he had any updates about the current state of BGMI. Replying to the question, Saumraj told his audience not to lose hope about the game’s return and claimed that it would come next year. He also revealed that the game’s hype is dying because no one is investing in tournaments.

Saumraj states BGMI will return with a tournament

In Krafton’s Q3 2022 report, the publisher stated that it is working on bringing BGMI back to India to instil the community’s confidence. It stated, “KRAFTON is continuing its efforts to resume services for BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI) and will continue investing in the Indian games market.” Talking about this, Saumraj said, “You guys know that Krafton recently updated about BGMI, which is a positive response from it. It implies that Krafton has not yet left India, so you should not lose hope.” He added, “It said they would continue to invest, meaning it will invest in the game. Invest in the game means the BGMI Esports scene.”

“The game will return mostly next year because there is no chance it will come this year. The esports calendar starts in March, and BGMI’s esports starts even before that. Free Fire’s esports and most other esports roadmaps start in March,” said Saumraj. He also claimed that once the game returns, Krafton will organize a tournament, either Battlegrounds Grounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) or a similar tournament. “When the game returns, there might be another BGIS or similar tournament,” he added.

Since the game’s block in the country, a lot of pro players and content creators, including Sagar “Maxtern” Thakur, Aditya “Casetoo” Sharma, and Mohammed Asif “SoloRush” Iqbal, have already quit the game. On the other hand, a few others have shown uncertainty about the game’s return. As a result, the game’s hype has been decreasing over time. Saumraj talked about this and said, “The game will return, but it will be too late; by then, the hype will be less. The hype is already dying. Players have stopped playing, and there is no tournament to build up the hype. No one wants to invest in hard times. Also, the community has stopped playing together, and everyone is offline. So, it is our fault too.”
