One of the top Indian esports organizations, Orangutan, recently hosted a Free Fire tournament called Rumble in the Jungle, featuring a massive prize pool of INR 13,50,000 ($17,047 USD).

A total of 18 teams from across the country were directly invited to participate in this tournament which took place online from 12th to 24th July, two weeks of non-stop action.

Orangutan, GodLike Esports, TSG Army, and Chemin Esports are a few well-known teams that participated in this event, which was one of the biggest Free Fire tournaments since the title got banned by the Indian Government in February earlier this year.

Orangutan recently organized a Free Fire tournament for Indian teams with the largest prize pool since the game was banned, 13.5 lakhs up for grab with 18 directly invited teams competing for it.

The first week of the tournament featured a part of the prize pool amounting to 3.5 lakhs, while the second week of the tournament hosted the other 9 lakhs.

Out of the 18 teams competing in the first week of the tournament, only the top 12 made it through to the second week which also featured the grand finals.

At the end of the first week of competition, Orangutan topped the overall leaderboard with a total of 168 points to its name and walked away with 1.75 laks. The Mafia's and Nigma Galaxy took the second and third positions with 159 and 140 points respectively, earning 50,000 each. The same amount was won by 'TM Mafia' also for being crowned as the MPV.

The second week of the competition witnessed GodLike Esports being crowned as the champions with a total score of 174 points, lifting the trophy and achieving 4 lakhs in prize money. Orangutan continued its solid form by placing second and bagging 2 lakhs more, followed by The Mafia's coming in third to secure 3 lakhs to its name (MVP, Most Kills, Most Booyahs).
