RSG PH’s head coach Brian “Panda” Lim is one of the most popular personalities in the Mobile Legend: Bang Bang (MLBB) esports scene. When the team announced that it will be competing in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia (MSC) Cup 2022 without its iconic coach, fans were eager to know what the team was planning in the future. Through an online press conference, it was revealed that Coach Panda will still be supporting the team, but through an online setting. Leading the team will be its assistant coach Karl “Giee” Barrientos. The team shall compete in the MSC 2022 for the Southeast Asian MLBB champion title.

Coach Panda had previously hinted that he has been “Brewing something for [Season]10.” While the team refused to expound further, Coach Giee explained that “First of all, we have a secret plan for this coming Season 10, so we’re ultimately preparing for the MSC. I can’t share much.”

While its iconic coach won’t be joining the team in its journey to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Coach Giee assured fans that Panda will be helping the team behind the scenes. He added that “To be honest, I’m confident about them. I’ve been with them since Season 8 and we grew [as coaches] together, I’m close with Coach Panda since Season 8 until now.”

When the players were asked about their thoughts regarding RSG PH’s assistant coach, Dylan “Light” Catipon expressed that the team is in good hands with Coach Giee leading the pack.

“This should be good training for me for the upcoming Season 10 to experience this, so having him [Coach Giee] as our head coach is good for me,” Light stated.

The team’s substitute player for the MSC 2022, Dexter “Exort” Martinez, explained that there isn’t much of a difference between Panda and Giee as the two work together to accomplish their goals.

“For me, they have no difference since they help each other. When one of them falls, the other one rises. It’s like they are on the same level. This is why we’re confident with our performance this MSC [2022],” Exort said.

The MSC 2022 will be held in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia on 11th June. The tournament will feature the top 12 Southeast Asian (SEA) teams competing for the lion’s share of the $300,000 USD prize pool.
