Former Laus Playbook Esports coach Brian "Panda" Lim has been named head coach of RSG Philippines for the upcoming MPL PH Season 8. Panda is a former coach of Team Sibol who won the gold medal in the Mobile Legends esports category in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. Panda also led Laus Playbook Esports during the MPL PH Season 7 but failed to secure a slot in the playoffs stage of the Mobile Legends league. The Korean coach will now lead the newly formed RSG PH in the upcoming MPL PH Season 8 which will be held on 13th August 2021.
Panda Leads RSG PH in the Upcoming MPL PH Season 8
The full roster was revealed on 14th July 2021, a couple of days after they announced plans to enter the Philippine esports scene for Mobile Legends. Soon afterward, the organization announced that Brian "Panda" Lim would coach the team.
As one of the best coaches in MPL PH history, Panda has a long list of accomplishments. This includes leading the PH team Sibol in the 2019 SEA Games where they grabbed the gold medal for the Mobile Legends category. He also led ArkAngel Esports to their first championship title during the MPL PH Season 2. Laus Playbook Esports then acquired him as their coach for the 7th season of the MPL PH. The team, however, was not able to secure a playoff slot after finishing with 3 wins and a total of 10 losses.
RSG PH Team Roster for MPL PH Season 8
With Panda under RSG PH’s lineup along with some of the best players such as the MPL PH veterans Kenneth “Kenji” Villa, EJ “Heath” Esperanza, Dexter “Exort” Martinez, Christian “Iy4knu” Manaog, and Arvie “Aqua” Calderon it looks like the team is primed for success.
RSH PH’s new rookies like Eman “EMANN” Sangco from Amihan Esports, John Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto of JNA Esports, and Nathanael “Nathzz” Estrologo of Work Aerial PH also ensure that the future is also looking bright for the team.
The team is also going all out, in terms of content creation. One of the most surprising changes in RSG PH was the addition of popular streamer and influencer Elyson “Wrecker” Caranza who is known for his boisterous attitude on stream. His rivalry with the popular streamer Akosi Dogie who is also playing as Nexplay EVOS’ support player may add an extra element of spice when the two take on their challenges in the upcoming MPL PH Season 8.
It will be interesting to see if the roster of RSG PH will be able to brew the perfect team chemistry that’s strong enough to take down the strongest teams of the PH Mobile Legends scene such as Bren Esports, Blacklist International, and Omega Esports.
