Cambodian Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) team Pro Esports announced the acquisition of the Filipino coach John Michael "Zico" Dizon. Pro Esports has been building an all-star team comprised of accomplished players from various popular teams across the Southeast Asian region. The squad is expected to be one of the prime contenders in the upcoming MLBB Professional League Cambodia (MPL KH) Spring Season 2023.

Coach Zico was a former coach of Burn x Team Flash, the squad that won the MPL KH Autumn Season 2022. The team competed in the M4 World Championship but due to unfortunate events, the team only finished 15th place without a single win in its standing.

Coach Zico continues coaching journey under Cambodian team Pro Esports

Shortly after leaving Burn x Flash, Zico signed with the Cambodian team Pro Esports for the upcoming MPL KH Spring Season 2023. This was revealed through a Facebook post on 20th January, revealing that the all-star squad will also have one of the champion-caliber coaches leading them in the upcoming tournament.

Zico led Burn x Flash to victory in the MPL Cambodia Autumn 2022 tournament, securing their place in the recently concluded M4 World Championship held in Jakarta, Indonesia. However, the squad had a rough journey in the tournament as it went home with an upsetting 15th place finish and zero wins in its record.

As revealed by the Filipino coach during a post-match press conference, he contracted COVID-19 which forced him to distance himself from the team. This hampered Burn x Flash’s performance in the tournament. While Zico was able to eventually return to coach the squad physically, they could not find momentum which resulted in an early exit.

With a new Cambodian team to lead, Coach Zico will have another chance at redeeming himself as he leads Pro Esports in competing in the MPL KH Spring 2023 for the coveted MLBB Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023 slot.
