PMWC 2024 Overview
Scheduled for July, the inaugural edition of PMWC 2024 boasts an impressive $3 million prize pool. A total of 28 teams worldwide will compete in this international gaming extravaganza, marking a shift from the previous World Invitational (PMWI) held in Riyadh in 2022 and 2023. The event is an integral part of the mega Esports World Cup 2024, with the Saudi Arabia Esports World Cup Foundation forming a three-year partnership with Tencent Games' subsidiary, Level Infinite.
Tournament Format of PMWC 2024
The PMWC 2024 will span eight days, divided into three distinctive phases: Group Stage, Survival Stage, and Main Stage.
Group Stage:
In the initial phase, 24 teams will vie for supremacy.
The top 12 teams from the overall points table will advance directly to the Main Stage, while the remaining 12 teams will progress to the next phase.
Survival Stage:
This round features 16 teams competing for the four slots available in the Main Stage.
Teams from PMSL Americas, SEA, EMEA, and CSA will directly qualify for the Survival Stage.
The top four teams from the overall standings will progress to the Main Stage, while the bottom 12 will be eliminated.
Main Stage:
The culmination of the tournament will see the top 12 teams from the Group Stage and the top four from the Survival Stage battling for the coveted championship.
The team that outshines the rest in the Main Stage will be crowned the PMWC 2024 champion.
