The ongoing Players Unknown Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2023 has provided its fans with back to back action. The league stage for Group Red has concluded with teams like Nongshim RedForce, SZ Six Two Eight (STE) and Morph GPX already securing a place in the event’s Grand Finals. Kim "XZY" Jun-ha from Nongshim RedForce was the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the week from Group Red.
Group Red matches were played from 9th to 12th November with the top 3 teams qualifying directly to the Grand Finals and the teams from 4th to 11th place playing the survival and last chance stage. The remaining four teams have been eliminated from the event.
Nongshim RedForce, SZ STE and Morph GPX League Stage Summary
Nongshim RedForce was the most consistent team in Group Red and was placed at the top of the table with 203 points including two chicken dinners. The squad was placed second on the first day of the league stage but grabbed the top spot on Day 2 and was not displaced for the rest of the event. Kim "XZY" Jun-ha from the team was the most consistent performer as he secured 41 eliminations across 24 matches.
SZ STE placed second with 186 points including 121 elimination points. The team had good performances on the first two days but was placed outside the top 3. On Day 3 the team showed some aggressive gameplay and grabbed two chicken dinners with 62 total points and moved to the second spot which helped it secure the Grand Finals spot.
Morph GPX was one of the consistent teams in the event. It was placed in the top 3 from Day 1 of the event. The team eventually placed third with 178 points including 127 elimination points and three chicken dinners.
Nigma Galaxy was placed fourth with 165 points. It was placed in the top 3 on the first two days of the event and was one of the favorites to qualify for the Grand Finals but it slipped to the fourth place on Day 3 and could not recover to grab a place in the top 3.
The seasoned squads of Nigma Galaxy, Duksan Esports, Yoodo Alliance, N Hyper Esports, Faze, Nat Boltu (NB) Esports, NASR Esports and iNCO Gaming will have another chance in the survival stage to proceed into the further stages of the event.
