PMGC 2022 Schedule, Location, Format and Other Details Announced
Here are the details of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022.
Tencent has revealed the details of the biggest PUBG Mobile event of the year, PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2022. PMGC 2022 will be divided into two stages -the League Stage and the Grand Finals. The 2022 edition of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship will have an increase in the number of slots. The tournament has been divided into two regions, East and West, where 24 teams from each region will fight it out to secure their slot in the Grand Finals. PMGC 2022 will feature a prize pool of $4,000,000 USD which is less than the previous edition of the tournament ($6,000,000 USD). The top 13 teams from the league stage will meet three invited teams in the grand finals of the tournament.
PMGC 2022 Schedule and Location:
The league stage of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2022 will begin on 22 November 2022, where 48 teams qualified from regional tournaments will participate. The Grand Finals of the tournament will be held in January 2023 which will be a LAN event in Indonesia. The detailed schedule and format of the tournament are yet to be revealed by Tencent.
PMGC 2022 slots and teams:
Tencent, the organizer of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2022 has increased the number of slots in the tournament. This year, there will be a total of 51 teams that will participate in the global championship, out of which 48 teams from the regional tournaments will be seeded into the league stage while the remaining three will get a direct invite into the grand finals.
PUBG Mobile fans have witnessed domination by the Chinese teams in the previous editions of the global championships. Nova Esports has been the undisputed champions of PMGC 2020 and PMGC 2021. Tencent has announced four slots for Chinese teams. The winner of the ongoing PEL (Peacekeeper Elite League) 2022 will be directly invited to the grand finals, while the teams positioned 2nd and 3rd will advance to the league stage of the tournament. The fourth Chinese slot will be decided through a regional tournament later this year.
Tencent has also announced the PUBG Mobile Regional Clash. This will be a four-day tournament in September 2022 where top teams from the Chinese and South East Asia region will compete against each other.
The slots for the Indian teams haven’t been disclosed by Tencent perhaps because of the uncertainty on BGMI's status in India.
