The young prodigy of Omega Esports, Duane “Kelra” Pillas is considering taking a break from being a Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports pro player. According to his vlog, he’s been feeling sluggish lately with all the problems he is facing. It was previously revealed by Omega Esports’ veteran pro player Billy “Z4pnu” Alfonso that the Indonesian esports organization, RRQ, is considering recruiting Kelra for its Mobile Legends team. However, this information is yet to be confirmed by the organization itself. At the moment, Kelra is still unsure as to whether he will be playing in the next season of the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL).

Kelra may be taking a break in the next MPL PH Season 9

Through a vlog posted on the official YouTube channel of Kelra, the young prodigy revealed that he wants to take a break from playing Mobile Legends competitively. He cited that he is lacking motivation to keep playing after the events that transpired recently.

“I feel tired, I don’t know but I want to take a break just like Killuash,” stated Kelra. “The events (this year) were too much, very hard.”

Killuash is a member of the Philippines (PH) team, Aura PH which recently rebranded to ECHO. The pro player went on a short hiatus and is rumored to be returning to pro play for the MPL PH Season 9. ECHO revealed some cryptic hints for the return of the pro player. However, the esports organization is yet to officially confirm this rumor so this should be taken with a grain of salt.

Kelra was hit with a lot of controversies this year

During the preseason of the MPL PH Season 8, the young prodigy of Omega Esports made some questionable statements and as a consequence he has been facing the brunt of the same.

Kelra faced backlash from the Mobile Legends community and the LGBTQ community for his homophobic statements towards Blacklist International’s dynamic duo Jhonmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna and Danerie "Wise" Rosario.

A new issue emerged when Chareeny “Ramella” Ramella, a member of IDNS Esports, called out Kelra for expressing sexual remarks towards her through a short clip that circulated online.

While Kelra apologized to the people he had offended, the MPL issued a penalty on him. He was suspended in the MPL PH Season 8 for two weeks or 14 days along with an undisclosed fine. Omega Esports also issued a penalty on Kelra over and above the penalties issued by the League.

It is still not confirmed if Kelra will be participating in the MPL PH Season 9 or will he be joining RRQ for the MPL ID Season 9. Fans will have to keep their eyes peeled for more updates in the future.
