Blacklist International’s dynamic duo Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario are making preparations for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Sibol qualifiers with the intention of representing the Philippines (PH) in the upcoming 2021 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games which will be held in May 2022. Through a livestream, the shotcaller and support specialist of Blacklist International, OhMyV33nus, revealed that his team will be taking a shot at qualifying for the next team roster for the Sibol squad before taking a break from the Mobile Legends esports scene. While two of its pro players are unable to participate due to age restrictions, Blacklist International will have two new pro players to complete its team roster.

Shortly after winning the M3 World Championship, Blacklist International’s V33Wise duo announced that they will be taking a brief hiatus and will miss out on the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 9. But before going on a break, they have one goal in mind.

According to a livestream on the official Facebook page of OhMyV33nus, the pro player revealed that his squad will be participating in the Sibol qualifiers to determine who will join the new team that shall represent the Philippines in the upcoming 2021 SEA Games.

Two of Blacklist International’s core members Edward “EDWARD” Dapadap and Kiel “Oheb” Soriano will not be able to participate as the event is only for players above 18 years of age. The rule for the age restrictions is by the Vietnamese committee. However, two new players will fill the role of the underaged pro players.

“We barely have time to prepare but it is what it is and we have to maximize the time that we have especially now that we have two new players,” stated OhMyV33nus. “One is in the Gold lane while the other is in the EXP lane so we really need to grind.”

The player then expressed his determination in joining the Sibol team and representing the Philippines. Blacklist International’s shot-caller also shared his story on how he was so close to acquiring a spot in the previous Sibol team.

“I almost had a chance to represent PH for Sibol and it feels nice to look back because we also qualified for the training pool of Sibol but I really lacked experience, confidence, and everything,” stated OhMyV33nus. "I was almost there to represent PH but I had a lot lacking in me."

With all the achievements and championship titles acquired, the pro player feels it is the perfect time to give the Sibol qualifiers a shot.

“They changed the process for the Sibol (qualifiers) but hopefully we can achieve it,” stated OhMyV33nus.

Sibol is the Philippine national esports team that participates in the SEA games under the esports category. The team previously dominated the 2019 SEA Games and earned the gold medal for the Mobile Legends esports competition. The team is now looking for the next pro players to field in the upcoming 2021 SEA games through the Sibol qualifiers.

It will be interesting to see if OhMyV33nus and Wise will be able to qualify for the Sibol qualifiers and represent the region for the upcoming 2021 SEA Games.
