Saudi Veterans NASR Esports claimed their first PMPL (PUBG Mobile Pro League) trophy today as they beat Quest Esports by a margin of 2 points in the nail-biting finale of PMPL Arabia Spring 2023. The team bagged the lion's share $12,450 USD in prize money along with the tickets to PMPL Middle East and Africa.
PMPL Arabia Spring 2023 Summary and Placements
NASR had a commendable start in the league stage of PMPL Arabia. However, as the weeks progressed, top contenders and global giants such as Nigma Galaxy and R8 Esports took the limelight and claimed the top spots on the league table. However, the unexpected rise of underdogs in the final week eliminated all our preconceived notions about the top dogs in the race.
NASR made a great opening in the finals and claimed the first chicken dinner with a whopping 15 kills. The team scored one more win by the end of the day to keep them in the lead. However, favorites like R8 Esports were breathing down their neck and the champions saw themselves losing the lead to Quest and Geekay Esports by the end of day 2. With underdogs stepping up to rise the ranks on day 3, things got pretty close at the top of the table. Even after another win, nobody was sure if NASR was going to take the title as the difference between them and Quest Esports was a measly three points and there was still one more Erangel match to go. Unfortunately, NASR was the first team to get eliminated in the match. But as it turned out, Quest Esports also took an exit immediately after, leaving NASR with a lead of two points to clutch the PMPL Arabia title.
PMPL Arabia Spring 2023 MVP
North American poster boy Koops who joined Nigma Galaxy this season claimed the MVP title along with most damage and highest eliminations, bagging a total of $1750 USD in individual winnings.
Nigma Galaxy along with the top 10 teams in the finals will move forward to play the PMPL Middle East and Africa Championship where the winners will get direct seeding to PMWI 2023.
