The upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023 shall feature more regions competing for this year’s trophy. Aside from the staple South East Asian teams competing, teams from other regions such as North America (NA), Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) will also be featured in the tournament. Each region’s representatives shall be decided through various qualifiers with Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) signing this season’s crowned champion.

The MSC 2023 is set to kick off sometime in June, shortly after the conclusion of the 2023 SEA Games.

MSC 2023 will feature teams outside the SEA region

The official regional slot allocations for the upcoming MSC 2023 have been revealed as well as the regions that will be participating in the tournament. For the upcoming tournament, the competitor diversity increases as teams from outside the SEA regions shall also be competing for this year’s championship title.

The MSC 2023 will officially start on 10th June. Competing teams for each region shall be decided through various qualifier tournaments. MPL regions shall draft their top teams from the current season.

“The transition for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup into a global mid-season tournament has been planned in the pipeline for some time, and this year is a good start to kickstarting the transition,” stated Sophie Guo, Regional Esports Lead, MOONTON Games. “In line with our mission – Esports for Everyone; we wanted to provide these budding regions more opportunities to compete on an international level and will gradually look to upscaling the tournament model in the future.” 

Here are the slot allocations for each region competing in the MSC 2023;

  • MPL Indonesia Season 11- Champion and Runner-up (2 Slots)

  • MPL Philippines Season 11- Champion and Runner-up (2 Slots)

  • Mekong Qualifier - Champion

  • MPL Cambodia Spring 2023 - Champion

  • MPL Malaysia Season 11- Champion

  • MPL MENA Spring 2023 - Champion

  • MPL Singapore Season 5 - Champion

  • Myanmar Qualifier - Champion

  • North America Challenger Tournament (NACT) - Champion

  • MLBB Turkey Championship - Champion

The Group Stage will be held between 10th to 13th June, with the Knockout Stage taking place from 15th to 17th June. The Grand Finals and third-place match will be hosted on 18th June, and all matches will be held offline. More details on the venue and ticketing will be announced at a later date.
