MPL SG Season 2 has finally revealed the format, invited teams, and all other information about the Mobile Legends tournament that you need to know. MPL Singapore Season 2 features six invited teams along with the top two finalists from the PVP Esports Open Championship competing for the championship title and the lion’s share of the $100,000 USD prize pool. Participating Mobile Legends teams in the upcoming MPL SG Season 2 will be split into two groups for the regular season and will face each other in a round-robin BO3 format. The top four teams from each group will proceed to the playoffs while the bottom two teams will be eliminated from the tournament. More details regarding the invited teams, format, and prize pool for the upcoming MPL SG Season 2 can be found below.

MPL SG Season 2: Invited Teams

The six invited teams have been revealed along with details on how other teams can qualify for the upcoming regular season of the pro league. Two other teams will also qualify for the regular season by securing a Top 2 finish in the PVP Esports Open Championship which will be held on 14th August 2021.

Here are the six invited teams who will be competing in the upcoming MPL SG Season 2;

  • Almighty

  • EVOS SG

  • Explorer

  • Notorious Villains

  • Kingsmen

  • RSG SG

Two more teams will qualify for the tournament via the PVP Esports Open Championship.

MPL SG Season 2: Format

The eight participating teams will be split into two groups; Group A and Group B. For the first phase, teams in the same group will face each other in a round-robin BO3 format.

All teams from the opposite group will then compete in a single round-robin format for the second phase. For each win, a team will earn one point. Losing a match will result in a one-point deduction. The top four teams from each group will proceed to the playoffs with the bottom two teams eliminated.

The top two teams from each group will proceed to the upper brackets while the third and fourth placers from each group will fight their way out of the lower bracket.

MPL SG Season 2: Where to Watch

The upcoming seasonal league will be broadcasted live on the official Facebook and YouTube channels of Mobile Legends Singapore.

MPL SG Season 2: Registration Information

Registration for the PVP Esports Open Championship Singapore is currently ongoing and will last until 2nd August 2021. Interested teams can sign up by heading to the official registration page of the tournament. The tournament will also feature a prize pool of $6,300 USD.

Last season, EVOS SG dominated the league after defeating RSG SG in the grand finals with a 3-0 score clean sweep. What’s more amazing is that EVOS SG only lost once during their run in the MPL SG Season 1. It will be interesting to see if the champion holder can defend their title or will they bow down to a new contender in the upcoming MPL SG Season 2.
