Team XO won the Snapdragon Pro Series New State Mobile India Open tournament held by NODWIN Gaming and ESL India on January 29. They won the grand finals with two Winner Winner Chicken Dinners (WWCD) in 12 matches and 96 points. The prize pool was ₹1,00,000 ($123,000 USD) and Team XO won ₹21,00,000.

Despite a good showing in the Challenger Finals, S8UL Esports failed to maintain consistency in the grand finals. In the Challenger Finals, the team had managed to secure first place with three WWCD in 12 matches and 90 points. However, it finished in the 8th position in the grand finals of the tournament.

MortaL recently hosted a watch party for the SPS New State Mobile Open India. While discussing S8UL Esports’ performance, MortaL stated that the team lost because of the lack of composure, not due to the lack of experience. “I feel they lack a bit of, as people are saying, it’s not about experience, it’s about composure,” he said. Following this, he stated that the roster should have been better at reading other teams, such as Team XO. He emphasized that team reading is very important and is the responsibility of the in-game leader (IGL). “According to me, they should have read teams, like Team XO is playing. Team reading is very important, which the IGL has to do,” he added.

MortaL also showed confidence in the team. “Don’t worry, no matter how this tournament ends, I’m very confident about this team,” he said. MortaL also noted that the team lost the tournaments because of their small mistakes.

After the conclusion of the Snapdragon Pro Series New State Mobile India Open, MortaL praised the players of Team XO for their adaptability in switching from Battlegrounds Mobile India to New State Mobile. MortaL emphasized that Team XO is a clear example for all esports athletes, showing that success is possible with enough effort and determination.
