Mineski Masters returns with PUBG Mobile and DOTA 2 esports events

Previously known as Manila Masters, the DOTA 2 esports event was first established back in 2017 where five invited teams along with three teams from China, Southeast Asia (SEA), and the Philippines qualifiers, clashed for a chance to claim the championship title and the lion’s share of the $250,000 USD prize pool. The tournament was won by the North American esports team, Evil Geniuses.

The tournament shall be returning under a new name “Mineski Masters,”. It will open with a new esports title PUBG Mobile alongside DOTA 2.

Roadmap for the esports event.

Nationwide qualifiers will be held every weekend of October 2021, with the playoffs broadcast live on 6th - 7th November, and then 13th - 14th November.

Mineski Master 2021: DOTA 2 tournament details

The Dota 2 tournament will be an invitational event with a ₱1 million ($19,000 USD) prize pool. The tournament will feature four of the top pro teams from South East Asia. Mineski is yet to reveal the invited DOTA 2 teams in the Mineski Masters. Teams from the Philippines will take up the rest of the four remaining slots of the eight-team bracket in the playoffs stage - which will be determined through a two-day qualifier that will kick off on 21st and 28th Nov 2021. The playoffs will then follow on 2nd - 5th December 2021.

"Mineski Global is an organization that traces its roots as far back as Dota 2 has. This heritage peaked in 2017 when we created the immensely popular Manila Masters in 2017, and we are thrilled to once again open up a stage for Dota 2 and our fans," stated Mark Navarro, as quoted by ABS-CBN.

It will be interesting to see if the Mineski Masters will be able to recapture the hype that its previous iteration had delivered back in 2017.
