Malaysia, having hosted the inaugural M-series spectacle in 2019, witnessed the Indonesian powerhouse EVOS Legends clinch the inaugural world championship trophy. Anticipation is building for the M6 World Championship, scheduled to unfold in December 2024, where elite teams from diverse regions will vie for the prestigious title of world champions.
Going back to where it all began, Malaysia set to host M6 World Championship
In the midst of fervent anticipation surrounding the clash between AP.Bren and ONIC Esports at the M5 World Championship, fans were treated to a glimpse of what lies ahead in next year's M-series event.
In a captivating pre-match segment of the M5 World Championship livestream, Mooton revealed the host destination for the M6 World Championship, next year's pinnacle event, – Malaysia. This marks the second occasion that the region is bestowed with the honor of hosting an M-series spectacle, promising an encore of the electrifying esports atmosphere that fans have come to cherish.
Aside from the big announcement, an award ceremony was also held where ONIC Esports earned the M5 Fan-Choice award. The award was decided through fan votes with the Indonesian team earning a total of 137,772,285 votes.
Moonton is yet to officially unveil the exact date of the upcoming M6 World Championship. The exact slots for each participating region are also yet to be announced. However, it is expected to be held in December 2024. Representative teams shall also be decided through various qualifier events and official regional leagues that will be hosted throughout the coming year.
